A brief history
Two pictures.
One vivid world.
Stereoviews are twin-image photographic cards made to be seen through a stereoscope. Each image records the scene from a slightly different angle; together, they resolve into a remarkably lifelike three-dimensional view.
From the 1850s through the 1930s, they carried distant cities, natural wonders, news events, and everyday life into the parlor. Publishers such as Keystone View Company and Underwood & Underwood produced millions—each one a small, tangible portal to its time.
